We have previously talked about how amazing the Magico A3 speakers are and the amplifiers you should match them with. If you are interested in our previous post, please visit Amplifier for Magico A3 to find out more. This time around, we will be finding out which subwoofers will best go with the Magico A3 floor-standing speakers.
Magico A3 are after all entry-level tower speakers in the eyes of the company who made them, even though they are rather expensive to own. And so they do have limitations, for instance, their bass reproductions. Don’t get me wrong, the Magico A3 can deliver really deep bass frequencies, more than most floor standers, but the sealed cabinet design does make it sound less impactful. The bass output of the A3s might feel a bit low, especially for bass fanatics. On top of that, the Magico A3 speakers are unable to hit below 20Hz thus unable to experience the true full-range sound of some music.
There is music that uses instruments with the ability to produce subterranean bass frequencies of below 20Hz such as a church organ. Not to mention, movie soundtracks tend to hit down to 20Hz or lower as well. If the music listening experience is important to you, we suggest going with a sealed subwoofer that is of equal caliber to the Magico A3s. For bass fanatics or HT enthusiasts, a ported subwoofer will be an ideal choice for you. You will certainly feel and hear the difference in bass output when integrating a high-performance ported sub.
You should set some requirements before taking a look at the list of the best subwoofers to match with the Magico A3 that we have prepared for you. The subwoofer must be able to deliver sub-bass down to 20Hz and below if not, it is not worth it to buy since the A3s could reach deep into the lower frequencies. The size of the subwoofer and the available space you have in your listening room. If your room space is limited but it is large in size, then you will need to go for high-quality subs with space-saving cabinet designs. You should now take time to list out as many subwoofer requirements as possible.
